Lee Congdon – CIO, Red HatLee Congdon is responsible for Red Hat’s global information systems, including the technology strategy, enterprise architecture, information technology governance, solutions delivery, and systems operations supporting the company. His role includes enabling Red Hat’s business through services such as knowledge management, technology innovation, technology-enabled collaboration, and process improvement.

Congdon has over 25 years experience as an information technology leader. Prior to joining Red Hat, he was Managing Vice President, Information Technology at Capital One where he developed and delivered information technology solutions for the firm’s corporate functions and Global Financial Services group. Before Capital One, Congdon was Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, at Nasdaq, where he led the organization’s efforts to identify, implement, and operate technology solutions for Nasdaq Japan, Nasdaq Europe, and other strategic global ventures. Earlier, at Citicorp, Congdon led multiple global technology initiatives for the private bank and the corporate bank. Congdon began his career at IBM as an operating system developer and held several technology and technical marketing positions of increasing responsibility with that firm.

Congdon holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science from Purdue University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.

Andi Gutmans – CEO, ZendAndi Gutmans co-founded Zend Technologies and has been instrumental in making Zend into the company it is today. In addition to building key partnerships with IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, and Adobe, and contributing to major customer & sales engagements, in 2006 he led the company’s largest round of funding to date.  Gutmans’ leadership of the company’s open source project Zend Framework has included galvanizing the PHP and enterprise communities around the benefits of standardization and has broadened the professionalism and market reach of PHP and of Zend solutions worldwide.

Gutmans has also been a lead contributor to PHP since 1997, when he and Zeev Suraski developed the foundation for PHP 3 and later co-founded Zend Technologies together. PHP 3 was a turning point for the language, which today powers over 20 million websites including Facebook and Yahoo! and enjoys a following of over 5 million developers.

Gutmans was named one of Computerworld’s “40 innovative IT people to watch, under the age of 40.”  He is also recognized from the widely circulated technical publications he has authored and is a frequent speaker on business and technology issues at global conferences.  Gutmans is a member of the PHP Group, the Apache Software Foundation, and the Eclipse Foundation, as well as serving on the board of Zend Technologies. Gutmans holds a bachelor’s in computer science from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.

Paul Santinelli – North Bridge PartnersPaul Santinelli joined the team at North Bridge Venture Partners in 2005, focusing on investments in Open Source, software, security, internet applications and infrastructure and communications. Previously, he served as director of Red Hat Network and was responsible for product definition, strategy, engineering, product management, marketing and lifecycle management for the company’s flagship software services offering. Paul also served as the director of global information systems and technology during his tenure at Red Hat.

Prior to his tenure at Red Hat, Paul was founder and CEO of NOCpulse, Inc., a Silicon Valley software startup focused on delivering the next generation enterprise systems management platform. NOCpulse was acquired by Red Hat in October 2002. While at NOCpulse, Paul was nominated for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2002. Before founding NOCpulse, Paul was chief technology officer of Global Center and VP of technology for Global Crossing, a telecommunications company that built and operated the world’s first independent global fiber optic network. During the past twelve years, Paul has held various engineering, product management and marketing positions at companies including Red Hat, IBM, Lotus Development and Compuware.

Prior to joining North Bridge, Paul served on the advisory boards of Arrowpoint Communications (acquired by Cisco), Inflow, Kiva Software (acquired by Netscape), Mobility.net (acquired by Software.com) and One Secure (acquired by Netscreen).

Paul received a B.S. from Emerson College in Boston.

Kent Freeman – COO/CIO, Ingram DigitalKent Freeman is President of VitalSource Technologies, Inc. and Chief Operating Officer of Ingram Digital, where he oversees technology direction for the company. VitalSource is a digital content distribution provider within Ingram Digital, which is an Ingram Content Group Inc. company.
Mr. Freeman has been with Ingram for more than 27 years. Prior positions with Ingram include Senior Vice President for Business Development of Ingram Book Group, Chief Technology Officer of Ingram Book Group, President of Ingram Customer Systems, and President of Ingram Fulfillment Services. He has served as Chair of the Book Industry Study Group, a non-profit organization that provides research and standards development for the book industry, and as Chair of the Book Industry Systems Advisory Committee.
Mr. Freeman attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Systems and Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University.

Jimmy Guerrero – Prod. Marketing Mgr, MySQLJimmy Guerrero currently manages MySQL’s Web 2.0, SaaS and Cloud product marketing programs. He joined MySQL in 2005 as the product manager for MySQL Cluster and other MySQL high availability technologies. Prior to joining MySQL he held various sales and technical positions at Idera Software and Embarcadero Technologies. He currently resides in Houston, Texas.

Josh Berkus – CEO, PostgreSQL ExpertsJosh Berkus has been a member of the PostgreSQL Core Team since 2002. He is CEO of PostgreSQL Experts Inc., a PostgreSQL professional services company. Prior to working on PostgreSQL, he worked with a variety of other software, including OpenOffice.org, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle PL/SQL, and (shudder) COM+. He also does Perl.

In the more colorful past, Josh has been a sculptor, a potter, a pastry baker, a labor organizer, a lobbyist, a legal assistant and a professional fundraiser. He likes to think that this gives him more perspective than the average Silicon Valley geek, but he’s probably kidding himself. He has lived in the Upper Haight neighborhood of San Francisco since 1993, and is unlikely to leave as long as rent control exists.

Baron Schwartz – Dir. of Consulting, PerconaBaron is the lead author of High Performance MySQL 2nd edition, and creator of innotop and Maatkit. He blogs frequently under his online alias Xaprb. Baron is the Director of Consulting at Percona, a firm that helps customers build high-performance applications with open-source software stacks such as LAMP.

John Reuning – Lead Architect, Lulu.comJohn Reuning is Lead Architect at Lulu.com, the premier global marketplace for new digital content on the Internet. Reuning manages Lulu’s engineering and operations teams and guides the company’s overall technology strategy.

He joined Lulu in 2005 and has worked across internal teams covering all areas of the publishing and e-commerce platforms. He took the reigns of Lulu’s engineering group in 2006. Prior to joining Lulu, Reuning spent five years at ibiblio.org, a large digital library and web hosting organization affiliated with the University of North Carolina. ibiblio works with a vast number of academic and open source software projects around the world. Before ibiblio, Reuning worked on a variety of technology projects. Reuning earned his A.B. in French from Davidson College. He earned both an M.A. in French Literature and an M.S. in Information Science from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Reuning enjoys exercising and is an avid runner. He also has a passion for medieval French literature, which stems from his academic days.

Stuart T. Weinberg, M.D. – VanderbiltOriginally from Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Weinberg enjoyed seven years in New Hampshire, first at Phillips Exeter Academy and then at Dartmouth College where he received a degree in computer science. He then returned to Ohio to receive an M.D. at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, followed by a pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. From 1990 thru 1993 he was an NLM Medical Informatics Fellow in Pittsburgh under Dr. Randy Miller. Dr. Weinberg’s clinical work included 13 years as a pediatric hospitalist and an additional 2 years at an urgent-care center prior to joining the Vanderbilt University faculty in August, 2004 as an Assistant Professor in Biomedical Informatics. He has since received a secondary appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics.

Dr. Weinberg is a member of the Wiz/Heo development team, primarily responsible for the creation and maintenance of the AdmissionWiz and ConsultWiz modules. He is also the primary developer for the Patient Flow / Outpatient Whiteboard, running within StarPanel, which is in current use at many of Vanderbilt’s on campus and offsite clinics. Dr. Weinberg is active with the American Academy of Pediatrics, serving for 12 years as the webmaster for the Council on Clinical Information Technology (COCIT) and developing its Pediatric Electronic Medical Record Review Site. Dr. Weinberg received the Byron B. Oberst Award from COCIT in 2004.
